WE’re Back - And you’re Invited!
We’d love for you to join us on July 23rd for our Relaunch Gathering at Mountain Goat, where stewardship, community, and the outdoors come together. And with every purchase you make that evening, you’ll be directly supporting the students of the non-profit GOAT (Great Outdoor Adventure Trips).
What to Expect at the July 23rd Gathering:
6:00–6:30pm — Open networking Arrive, grab a drink, meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, and explore what other community members and organizations across the Upstate are involved in. No background in stewardship or the outdoors needed. Just come curious and see where the conversations go.
6:30–7:00pm — Welcome back and introduction
A warm welcome and a peek at what’s ahead for Upstate Stewards. We’ll share why we started, why we’re back, and how we’re keeping things flexible so we can best serve the community.
7:00–7:30pm — Guest presenter: Ben Lord
Ben Lord, Board Member of Friends of Reedy River, forest gnome, river rambler, accordion player, and Research Environmental Engineer, will share an approachable look at how streams, rivers, and watersheds work. He’ll break down the science behind these systems and how they shape water quality, flooding, recreation, and conservation, using clear explanations, real examples, and plenty of humor.
7:30-8:00pm — Steward Shoutouts & Wrap up
We’ll hold space for a handful of participants (yes, you!) to share updates, announce events, and highlight opportunities. We’ll do quick signups at check‑in.
After all, it takes all of US, and this space is meant for connection.
